Experience

During my summers in college I was privileged to work with many high school band camps from south central North Carolina to western North Carolina. I served as a section leader for two years and a drum major for one year during my years with Western Carolina University's "Pride of the Mountains" Marching Band. In the fall of 2013 I completed my student teaching at West Henderson High School under the tutelage of Allen Klaes, David Starnes, and Dr. William Bryant. In January of 2014, I served as the substitute band director for John A. Holmes High School.

Performing Ensembles: Sinfonia Winds, WCU Wind Ensemble, WCU Symphony Band, WCU Concert Choir, Early Music Ensemble, "Pride of the Mountains" Marching Band, All District Symphonic Band

Contests: Student Soloist (WCU Wind Ensemble) - 2010; Student Conductor (Western Carolina University) - 2011, 2012, & 2013

 



Bio

I was born in Chapel Hill, NC and raised in Burlington, NC. I graduated from Graham High School and immediately studied Music Education at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, NC. During my college tenure, I studied instrumental music and created pedagogy through various performing ensembles and opportunities. During my summers in college I was privileged to work with high school bands across the central and western areas of North Carolina. I served as a section leader for two years and a drum major for one year during my years with Western Carolina University's "Pride of the Mountains" Marching Band. In the fall of 2013 I completed my student teaching at West Henderson High School under the tutelage of Allen Klaes, David Starnes, and Dr. William Bryant. In January of 2014, I served as the substitute band director for John A. Holmes High School and continued to work for Edenton-Chowan Schools as an Interim Media Coordinator for John A. Holmes High School. I am currently in my second year as Director of Bands here at Southwest High School.
