 I hold a Bachelor of Arts dgree in Elementary Education with an academic concentration in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. I also have an Applied Science degree in Marine Technology from Cape Fear Community College and a General Education degree from Louisburg College.


This is my first year teaching Earth & Environmental Science at the High School level. I have 17 years teaching science experience in elementary school with Onslow County Schools.


My name is William Paul Starling and I teach Earth & Environmental Science classes at Southwest High School. I have taught in Onslow County Schools for 18 years. I graduated from the University of North Carolina @ Wilmington in 2002. My wife Michele Starling is also a teacher here in Onslow County currently working with Southwest Elementary and parkwood Elementary. I have 3 daughters all who have or are currently attending Southwest High School. Morgan graduated last year with the class of 2017. I also have a junior here named Mckenna and a freshmen named Marla. I have also coached soccer with Southwest Soccer Club for about 13 years. I also enjoy fishing, camping, hiking, surfing and anything in the outdoors.
