I was born and raised in Winterville, NC.  After graduating from ECU, I performed as a freelance musician for a year, taking a position as trumpeter with the show band on a Carnival cruise ship.  I soon enrolled in graduate school at Louisiana State University.  My wife and I moved back to NC after finishing grad school.  This is my 6th year teaching, and my 4th at Southwest High School. 

 I love teaching music and helping others to love it as much as I do.
